Her experiences living in Mexico, Puerto Rico, and Cuba deepened her appreciation for how food tells stories and embodies culture—an obsession she carries into every kitchen. Self-taught and driven by curiosity, she has spent years mastering the art of cooking as a luxury yacht chef in the Virgin Islands allowing her to execute gourmet-quality food in any environment. From fully equipped kitchens on land to compact galleys at sea, Maddy can create versatile crowd-pleasing meals regardless of space and resources.

In 2022, Maddy met Maura Budge—a kindred spirit whose passion for culture, community, and cuisine complements Maura’s own.
Together, they set out to explore how food connects people across landscapes and gourmet traditions, blending their diverse experiences from Montana’s mountains to the shores of Lake Superior.
